A compact introduction to tank, damage and support. Each profile gives you one responsibility to practise and a route to Blizzard’s full description.

tank / Frontline space

Reinhardt

Reinhardt lets the team take a contested approach behind a barrier. Link that movement to cover so the group can keep playing when the barrier is unavailable.

Keep in mind

A charge or push still needs teammates who can follow the same route.

tank / Mobile protection

D.Va

D.Va’s movement can answer a threat on another level or return to a pressured ally. Treat both actions as part of one team job.

Keep in mind

A dramatic arrival does little if it leaves no useful way back.

damage / Off-angle pressure

Tracer

Tracer creates pressure where the enemy would rather not look. Keep movement available so the angle survives the first reaction.

Keep in mind

Attention is useful only if your team can act while the enemy is distracted.

damage / Steady sightline pressure

Soldier: 76

Soldier: 76 makes a good starting point for learning angles with a familiar rifle. Move with the fight instead of protecting a position after it stops mattering.

Keep in mind

An isolated firing lane can be easy for the other team to close.

support / Ranged support and utility

Ana

Ana combines a ranged view with abilities that can change an exchange. Keep a piece of cover close and check the flank before committing to a scoped view.

Keep in mind

Your team may need the utility after the first damage lands, not before anyone is threatened.

Official hero details

support / Responsive protection

Kiriko

Kiriko can protect an ally and reconnect with the team. Read where everyone is before deciding how to spend the movement and the save.

Keep in mind

The target you can reach is not always the safest place to arrive.
